I'm getting my tonsils out next month and am pretty nervous.?

My tonsils are comming out next month and im getting reallly nervouse. Everyone i ask tells me it was horrible and they didnt get enough pain medication to manage there pain. Ive never been under anistesia and from what my sister told me is extremly scary. Has anyone had this proceedure done and if so can u please be brutally honest about what i should excpect.

I was just fine, and I had it done when I was 6 years old.
    1. They'll put you to sleep...it feels strange, but you'll be fine.
    2. They'll do their thing, you'll wake up. DON'T TALK!
    3. They'll give you pain medicines.
    4. Honestly, the worst part happens 1-2 months later: the scabs begin to peel off. Drink lots of water, and you'll be fine.

It was literally a pain-free experience for me...until the scabs peeled off.
