Adopted a golden retriever/corgi mix and was told he was 9 years old but the vet says he's more like 13! He's deaf, white muzzle, glazed eyes, but sees well and is troubled with herniated discs that respond well with treatment. He's a sweet old guy. Just wondering what to expect in his declining years. He loves his gently brisk walks when his back is good, but doesn't play, and has a decent appetite. Loves to camp, loves to ride in the car and the kayak, but is mostly sedentary. We want him to enjoy his time here. We've only had him a year. How much is probably left? How can we tell when the end is likely approaching if it is a natural end ? We've never had a dog, and want to know as much as we can. We're devoted to giving him a fun life right to the end, as long as that's possible.
