I had my #19 tooth (lower left) extracted two days ago - in desperation to put an end to a debilitating tooth ache that had kept me from sleeping for two nights. The extraction didn't go smoothly, it took over two hours for the dentist to finally get my tooth out. He prescribed some pain medicine, but no antibiotics. I was told I would feel better within 48 hours. That time has now passed, and I still have serious soreness in my lower left jaw. I am finding it very difficult to swallow, and I have some pain in my neck - as if my glands were swollen. I also have really horrible, awful - foul tasting brown gelatinous goop globbing up at the extraction site. This is what is actually bothering me the most. I have had one extraction before, and this didn't happen then. I apologize in advance - but the only way I can describe this stuff, is that it looks like the cooked blood globs that form sometimes when frying a hamburger patty. I am frightened by this. I would so appreciate help.
