    This question is for fitness finatics.... about the abs?

    Hi guys. I would love to know if you have to continue to do ab exercises for the abs to remain tight and flat after yo have reached the desired state. Or mayb just light exercises less frequently to keep it up? How does this thing work? If it gets tight and has been for a while and i decide to give up my ab routines, could it get lose even if proper dieting is maintained?

    Yes, you have to continue doing ab workouts forever, if you want to maintain the abs you worked so hard to get. However, you can do less frequent or shorter workouts for maintenance, than you did when building those muscles initially.

    Just like any other muscles, if not used they will return to a more soft, untoned state. Although once having been toned, they do re-tone easier in the future but it still takes work and diligence.

    Just like when you diet to lose weight, you cannot go back to your old way of eating and expect the pounds to stay gone.
