Part of my rib cage seems to go inward now when it didnt used to. What could this be?

I have asthma and lately my lungs have had some pain that is on and off. It is normal to me to have lung pain, but I felt my rib cage where one of the the places hurt and there is a spot where the bones are depressed. It is still flat and smooth, but it goes inward like a depression in the ribs. It hasn't been like this before because I have felt my rib cage when I've had pain. What could this be? Seems like I have also had a lot of joint pain too and bad allergies lately.
