I have a constant busy mind: I'm always thinking about something (not necessarily worrying or anxious). For example, when walking from my office to the washroom I will start to think about the movie I watched last night, errands I have to run, the email I got from my mother, an annoying thing my co-worker did last week, and so on... My mind is never still! I've been doing this for as long as I can remember, and it hasn't caused a problem until I got older & my short-term memory became poor. Now I will get up to fetch something from another room, and because my mind immediately starts to race I completely forget about the original errand! I have been on Zoloft for 7 years, could that have something to do with it?
Today I tried to empty my mind, or tried to imagine something neutral like snowflakes, but I quickly became distracted with my thoughts. I also tried meditation with the same result.

I've seen advice for people who have racing minds at bedtime, but nothing for during the day.
