Hi. I'm really good at running. I run about 3 miles each day. Then, one particular day at school, we had to run 13 miles from the top of a mountain(of which we hiked 2 miles up) and then run 11 miles back to school on rugged terrain, forests, and canals. After 2 days(today) my legs are very sore.

I know that when you work out muscle tears to come back stronger. But I feel intense pain, and its hard for me to stand up. I've never really ran 13 miles in my life. Plus, I've had a lot of impact from running down the mountain. The good thing was I was ranked number 33 out of 670 students. Anyways, is this normal? I can barely stand up or walk. It hurts when I touch or caress my thighs. It hurts to stand up or walk. I'm sitting down right now and I feel no pain unless something gets contact with my thighs.

Is this normal? Will my muscles really come back way stronger? When will the intense pain leave, its been 2 days?

Is this really normal? I'm 14 by the way.
