Abdominal work whether it is working with weights, crunches, sit ups, pilates, The lines are there because your abs are defined. Get them tight and toned and the lines will be deeper and stand out.
Well, if you can already see your abdominals, the best thing to do would be to continue doing your normal exercise / eating routine, but start to work the abs more so they become bigger.
Instead of losing fat to define them, you'll be making the muscles bigger to make them more defined.
