Since I've heard that a person still has to buy fruits, vegetables, milk, nuts, etc.... when on Nutri-System or Jenny Craig weight loss programs, wouldn't it be just as effective and cheaper to create a similar home program? If I bought whole grain or low carb packaged meals such as Lean Cuisine, Smart ones, Healthy Choice etc.... and used them for my three main meals daily then just added fruit, low-fat dairy, and vegetables for snacks, wouldn't that work just as well? I could even purchase one daily treat as a snack (like low fat cookies or fat free cheesecake) like I've seen advertised on T.V. by the main weight loss programs. Has anybody tried doing this instead? If you've done Jenny Craig or Nutri-System, do you think the food would be similar and the carbs/calories equal to what I could purchase in a super market? Also, how many calories does Jenny or Nutri-System allow you daily? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
