Other things to consider, one is to get a tan or make sure you have an even tan (best to make sure you get sun on a regular basis rather than tan in a can if at all possible). Go to a large store that has make up advice and get some pointers on proper application and amounts to use. Pick the clothes and assessories you would like to wear well in advance, you then have plenty of time to shop around for anything missing from your collection. If you intend to wear ridiculous heels, then try to get some practice in walking in 'em, reduce the chance of stumbling or falling.
