i am jr in high school n i play baseball on the school team. friday we had a game and on my last at bat i went against a big right handed pitcher who was throwing between 80-85 mph. he threw my a fast ball inside and i swung at it but somehow it hit me on my right index finger. the sound of the impacy sounded as if i made contact with the bat, not my hand. it hurt but i thought it was just a bruise so i finished my at bat. later on i noticed though that it was extremly swollun and it hurt during any movement or pressure. today i went to the doctor for x rays and they saw a noticable break. but when they magnified the image they were very suprised n worried n saw it was alot worse than they thought. she said i have an angulated fracture on my finger (whatever that means) its below the joint of my finger. anyway she said i have to go to an orthapedic specialist and he will have to "properly fix it" so it can heal correctly. wat does this mean? how will they fix it? n how long am i out 4?
