how does the heart manage to still beat correctly even when you're upside down I was thinking that all the blood goes to the top of the heart

I was watching this show and this magician/performer guy was hanging upside down in NYC or Chicago. They say after hanging upside down for long periods of time can cause blindness and many other health problems.
