I'm 17 and I'm not particularly fit. I want to lose some weight and get fitter so I figure jogging would be a good form of cardio.

I have a great. long strech of road only a few minutes walk from my house. It runs through bogland so there's little or no traffic (only a few rare turf harvesters). A cycle away there's also some woodland with good paths if I wanted variety.

I was thinking of going for a run in the morning before school starts. I want to start my routine now so I'm ready for school. I need to be back at my house by 8 to get ready for school so what time should I get up at? How long should I run for? What do I need, etc.?
