Im having agonzing pain that comes and goes throughout the day. It starts in my mouth and shoots through my jaw and cheek. Im also having extreme sensitivity/pain to cold beverages. Im on antibiotic and pain medication. Im seeing a dentist in 2 days. Ive never had a root canal in my life (Im 38 years old). I suspect I will need one. Here;s the dillemma,. Im having pain on the top row right side, but I cant figure out which particular tooth is causing the pain. In addition, when I touch the surfaces of the teeth, they dont hurt. Its totally internal. How is the dentist going to diagnose this? How will he diagnose for root canal? Please help.
