I've was the primary care giver for my quadraplegic husband for 17&1/2 years before he passed away 2 yrs ago. Then I was primary care giver for my aunt who had breast cancer that spread to her brain before she passed away just 8 months ago. Now I just found out that my mother was diagnosed with lymphoma and I'm going to be her primary care giver, health care proxy, and power of attorney through out her treatment and hopefully her recovery. All of this is really starting to drain me. But there isn't any other family member able to stand up to the plate or take on the responsibility so I can get a break. They say that God only gives us just what we can handle. But lately I feel overwhelmed and that he has given me more than my fair share. So how much can one person take before they lose it?
