How long will the needle be in my vein when I get a blood test?

I'm meant to give blood every month (I have this disease) but I have a phobia and I haven't had one for over 2 years. I can't really remember what happens-can anyone help?

They will tie a band around the top of your arm. You will squeeze your hand. They will wipe an alcohol swab over your vein. Prick it with a needle, draw the blood for about 20 seconds. Remove the needle and get you to press hard on it for a few minutes.

Deep breathe and relax. It will be over before you know it.

    Good Luck
