My brother has long term schizophrenia and is in and out of hospital and medically retired. He is in his mid-40s. I have noticed the improvement in his condition recently - there are fewer psychotic episodes, and those that are seem to recover more quicky. Quite possibly the medication and care is helping. Relapses are often caused by associating with druggie friends, and a general social malaise in London.

The problem he has now is lack of hope and depression kicking in whenever his mind is clear enough to see reality in all its awfulness.

When I, comparatively sane and level-headed, have been pushed onto the scrapheap of male exclusion by feminism, what hope is there for him to rebuild his life and become a productive member of society before he is too old?
