I just turned 17 and im about 5'11 and weigh 207 pounds. To my understanding i should weigh about 188 pounds. I am very interested in building muscle and a strong core, i am just wondering if i should lose the excess weight first or start building the muscle now. I have always been a large frame kid and i dont want to be a shrimp i like my size, just want the excess fat to turn into strong abs and to build a strong core. Should i get on a fat buring program or is it a good idea to just jump into a muscle building workout turning the excess fat into muscle?
