Recently I have noticed something wrong with my Guinea Pig.
He's 5 and called Merry. For the last few nights I have been asleep with worry about my pet Guinea Pig.
His eye looks badly infected, almost protruding out of its socket. At first my mum and I believed it to be cataracts, however one day my mum noticed that a goo type substance had come out of his eye when it was caught on some hay. This has left a puncture in his eye.
Since we do not have any pet insurance my mum insists that we do not go to the vets.
All we have really done is applied some sterile water in order so that if it he has scratch his eye it could heal. However there are no signs of that, and we fear he may have gone blind in the eye.

A cloudy substance is present in the eye which when I looked up on the internet is a sign that the eye is healing.
Some signs I believe could point to conjunctivitus however I am unsure. His diet appears to be normal and he doesn't seem bothered about it. Any advice?
