Thread: emotional abuse?

i'm 17. i live with my parents (still married). i get yelled at for little things all the time, i constantly feel smothered. i feel like i can't tell them anything. i watch what i say around them. i'm treated like a little child. this week i'm grounded from going out with my boyfriend, even though i've met curfew every time i've been out. are they emotionally abusive or just overprotective?

Maybe. But it might just be that you're 17. Have you told them how you feel? It might be worth a try.
