    Diverticulitis and diet?

Is it ok to eat cornmeal when you have diverticulitis? Perhaps I'm being silly but I was advised to avoid corn/popcorn. It's early, my doctor isn't in yet and I'm curious. Yes, I'm going to call my MD but for now I'm curious.

Yes, it is ground. It is the kernels themselves that will slip into the pouches and may set up infection. Cornmeal is fine.
