Thread: Depression in College? What should I do?

Freshman in college. I have social anxiety and very few friends that are not close at all. I go to a LARGE school, many kids... but I love my classes. I don't want to switch schools because it offers my major and i am only a couple hours from home.
I am not close with my three room mates (we coexist and are on good terms) with them, i feel like the odd one out.
some nights i cry because i feel so isolated.

I don't know what to do, I've never had to confront a depression before.

it was hard my freshmen year moved somewhere with not friends or anything.. just give it time keep your head up!

Many colleges (and virtually all large universities) offer free counseling/psychotherapy for students. It is one of the only times in life that this service will be available to you at no cost. You would be wise to take advantage of it.

p.s. Just look up "counseling" on your college's website. There should be directions to the proper building on campus.
