can i be committed to a psychiatric ward?

could i possibly be committed to a psychiatric ward or a hospital of any kind, even though i am over 18 and do not live with anyone else?

there is no one who is legally responsible for me, as far as i know, and therefore i should not be able to be committed to a psych ward unless unconscious, right?

i have a rash near my um...private region and i know i need to see a doctor for it, but i'm worried that they will be able to read my mind, find out about my psychological disturbances, and commit me to a hospital.

As an adult, you cannot be committed against your will unless you are deemed to be in imminent danger of harming yourself or someone else.

Your physician cannot read your mind.

Go ahead to the doctor so you can address the rash issue.
