Thread: Black and purple throat????? ?

My mother has been having trouble breathing at times. We thought she had sore throat but she opened her mouth and the back of her throat is purple with a trim of black. Is this contagious? Does she need to go to the hospital?? what the heck is this?? I have never even seen this before. She also spit up blood...PLEASE HELP thank you so much

I'd call the family doctor, or her doctor.
i couldn't find anything on webmd about it
so it could be very rare and very serious.
if you don't have a family doctor then cal the hospital.
