Xbox 360 with HD-DVD or a Blu-Ray player?

I recently got an Xbox 360. It is an awesome upgrade from a ps2. Anyway, I was wondering if I should get one of the HD-DVD players that hook up to the Xbox or just by a Blu-ray player. I don't really know which of the formats is better, but I know the Xbox option would be alot cheaper. Which should I go with?
