Will i get HD on my DVD player if i hook it up with my HDMI cable to my

cable boxes HDMI port? im asking this as my HDTV is mounted and i want to know if i have to plug it in to my TV to get HD from my DVD player
its a Phillips DVD player with HD upconversion, i just want to know if qaulity will drop if it goes from my DVD to DVR box to my HDTV (all connected by HDMI) when compared to dvd player to TV straignt through HDMI
thanks TV guy, how should i connect it as my TV is mounted?
