Will a 1080i HD upconversion DVD player work with an HDTV that has a...

...maximum video output of 720p? Will my TV downgrade the image quality to 720p or do I have to buy a model that meets my TV's specifications? I contacted Best Buy and 6 Ave. customer service, their agents were inexperienced and unhelpful, did nothing to improve my situation.

10 points will be awarded to the best answer.

    Thank You

Yes, the dvd will upconvert to the resolution of the TV. No one can tell the difference between 1080i and 720p. They are both considered HD. As for down grading from 1080i to 720p its virtually the same thing. Where you can tell a difference is 720p and 1080p. If anyone tells you different they do not know what they are talking about.
