My specifications says: Playable formats: DVD-Video, SVCD, VCD, MP3, JPEG. I'm assuming that it will not play HD. Thanks to all.

How do you know if a DVD player will play HD DVDs?

No a standard dvd player with not play HD-DVD discs. HD-DVD discs require a high definition dvd player HD-DVD. However you will not find any more HD-DVD players because since April 2008, Sony Blu-Ray has won the high definition format and is not the only high definition dvd standard on the market. HD-DVD no longer exists.
