1. The BROADCAST Method. Scatter the seed across the area you want to grow. This is the method most often used for sowing grass.
2. Sow in DRILLS. Hoe out one long v shaped line and sprinkle the seed in it. Larger seed can be more easily spaced than smaller seed.
3. Sow in BLOCKS. Easier done with larger seed. Make holes with a dibber that are equidistant and drop one or two seeds in each seed station/hole.
That's a pretty broad question you have posted. The short answer is read the back of the seed packet and it will tell you the time, the depth, and how much soil to cover it all with. Some seeds need to be about an inch deep and others just covered with a quarter inch of soil. Then there is soil preparation to do as well before you plant anything.
