Thread: There's a rumour about me at school, please help?

I'm in highschool, and there's a rumour about me and I just want it to stop, everyone thinks I'm a sl*t.

This guy asked me out, I said no. Then crowds gathered around as his friend asked me out. I said "... I don't know..." And so he goes and tells everyone we're dating. All the year 8's, 9's, 10's and most of the 11's and 12's know about it and its just horrible. I get stopped every day by people saying, "So you're the chick who's dating both ____ and ____? Woooahhhh!"

There was also a fight today between... Lets just say, blah and bleh. (There were crowds of people) people were saying "DUUUDE! SHE'S WWAAAAYYYY OUT OF YOUR LEGUE" and hitting and kicking and pushing and all that stuff... I don't want to be fought over. I want this all to end. I've told him that I don't want to date him but he won't listen to me, he won't end the rumours. I don't want to go to school tomorrow... Help?

I know I probably sound pathetic but... I just don't even know what to do.

Do you have a high school newspaper that you could print the truth in?
If not if any one states to you, "I heard...." you can calmly say "yes, I heard that rumor to and it is not true." End of subject. Then go on to talking about something else. A lie can only go on it participants are willing to keep it going by talking about it.
That way you have had your say and don't lose your peace of mind.

You aren't dating ether, right? Well...I'd just try my best to tell people "I'm single" but that doesn't work. Try talking to both boys and thing them to stop this nonsense. If it gets bad enough, and sounds like it is, talk to your guidance councilor for help. :-(
