How do i get music onto my LG rumor?

i just got an LG rumor a couple weaks ago and then i got a mobile memory kit by lexar at walmart and i tried to get music by dragging the song into the folder like it said to but when i do that it says that the disk is write protected and i can't get anything on it what should i do?
