why pass on personal stuff about anyone? - it often causes bad blood. ok to pass on pleasant things, but not unpleasant or personal things.

anything negative passed on about people may be regarded as gossip - even if true. u dont want the reputation of a gossip do u?
much better to be known as a person who never says anything nasty about anyone - true or not. those people are much respected, & I know some.

It depends what it is and whether you're sure it's true. It quite natural for people to not like things about certain other people and if you want to complain about someone to someone else, then that's quite healthy and normal. Though beware the gossiped about person might well find out what you've been saying and not be happy. And the person you gossip too might not want to hear what you've got to say and might just 'shoot the messanger.'
