Would you rather have a smartphone (such as the android) or a blackberry?

Are the plans cheaper for smartphones than for blackberries or are they same? Is it true that texting is included in the data plan for smartphones but not for blackberries? What would you prefer and why?

well for one thing a blackberry is a smartphone. the distinction is the OS, android phones run on the android OS and blackberry's run on the blackberry OS. Just like iPhone runs on the Apple OS. I would go with an android phone hands down. i upgraded form the blackberry curve (i forget the model number) to the HTC EVO and i will never not have an android phone. there is nothing wrong with blackberry's. the torch actually looks like a decent phone but there is just so much more you can do with an android phone. the app market is getting to the point were it will rival the Iphone market. plus there are so many android phones you can get exactly what you want. I would look into the SAMSUNG ones. there amazing. the EVO and incredible are also amazing.

Smart phone because Blackberries are way too fragile. Everything finds a way to break, the keyboard is way too scrunched, and it's just uncomfortable to use (in my opinion). The plans are about the same if you want the same things included. They both have essentially the same features so if you want to go online and have a data plan you're getting a standard data plan. Texting usually is included in the data plan just because it's so expensive, but depending on the deal you make you can pick and choose pieces (in some cases...some phones require certain plans). All in all I refuse to buy a Blackberry, but they are still good if you like the layout.

Smartphone for sure. I think the plans are about equal, but I'm not sure what testing costs on a BB. The smart phones (iPhone, Android) are not only good for business but they are very versitile in the apps and abilities that can perform.
