Go to
Start> Program Files(or all programs in vista)> Accessories> Sound Recorder
press record, talk, then save to where you want it.

firstly make sure the DSL modem is plugged into...
firstly make sure the DSL modem is plugged into the wall, then the laptop into the modem, then go into windows control panel and network connections make sure the wired ethernet port is enabled
