How do you play pokemon on your phone?

I've downloaded Meboy with Pokemon Red already installed. I can go onto Meboy but when I actually click on Pokemon Red, nothing happens. My phone is a pretty crappy Sagem My501c, but I should be able to play the game. Does anyone have any suggestions?
