    Do you need service to use wifi on a cellphone?

    Does your phone need to be in service to use WIFI on it? Just wondering.

    No it does not. I have many friends who have iphones with no service, and still use wifi for all the functionalitys of an iphone besides calling and texting.

    No. You're phone has a wifi antenna, and it will scan the room for any wifi signals
