Thread: can i phone home free of charge using skype mobile phones, will i need a wifi signal?

hi, as the question says, will i be able to phone afghanistan to uk free of charge with skype mobiles if so what will i need? i am going to get 2 skype mobile phones, 1 for me one for the family, is this all i need or will i need some sort of wi fi as well, sorry to ask what some will regard a stupid question however a bit of a technophobe, thanks in advance for all your help.

You should be ok with your Skype mobiles, yes.
To call from afghanistan to the UK with webcams you will need, obviously, a pair of web cams and the Skype software installed on your laptop or PC. You will need to pay the charges for using the service which is probably much cheaper that using normal phones.
But since you have the mobiles, you should be ok!
You might want to check with the operators and Skype to check whether the mobiles will work abroad, sometimes there can be issues but as I said, it seems ok to me
