Thread: Why is Flipnote Hatena DSi closing?

I don't have a 3DS and don't want one and I also don't wanna have to pay to post Flipnotes!

Flipnote Hatena, which was mostly a FREE SERVICE on the DSi is closing as they're planning on upgrading to provide a 3DS version of the software & services (which does include paid online services).

Nintendo, who maintains the Flipnote Hatena servers, don't want to shut down those services... but after running it for about 5 years & Nintendo has to keep an eye on the future, they must in order to focus on provided extra services for market-active consoles (just as they're shutting down some of the Wii online services at the end of June to better focus on Wii U services).
