What was this old game for ps2?

I remember you starting out in a circular place. It was only desert. You had to go into this cave thing. There were times of day and everything too. I remember about like a wizard has to teleport you out of the cave. I kept dying of dehydration. There were mine carts i believe in the desert starting area. I remember in the cave fighting various monsters. One of those monsters were flying boulders. This was in 3rd person perspective and was made no later then 2002. There were no dogs fighting beside you as in fate I, II, and III. I believe you could pick up items. It was single player.

That game is really good I love it. I just found out what it is. It is Dark Cloud. I have another game I am looking for. It's for PS2. I remember a scene to were you battle and have a certain distance you can travel a turn. It makes a big blue bubble to where you can walk. The battling is a mist to me. But I remember when this blob thing came up and was all like forcing me to do work for it - making some kind of potion with things I could find.
