Should I get a Nintendo DS Lite or DSi?

Ok so what is better value for money and more future proof. And also performs well with flashcarts. The DSi has a 17% larger screen and better speakers while the DSL has a GBA slot and longer battery life and it's cheaper.

Too be honest I think the DSi is pretty much just nintedo way of making money. Other than the camera and mp3 its pretty much 60 bucks added to ds. I personally think ds is better since majority of people would buy a ds for games. besides if u want ds for music just get a R4 you can put basically as many game and whater game you want also you could put music in it and its perfect legal.

I just answered this question awhile ago so Imma just copy and paste..

The DSi is a pretty neat thing mainly cause it goes beyond just a portable gaming sytem unlike the regular DS

Camera
Has the ability to upload those pictures to computers with an SD card, which is personally the best part

Internet
Has the ability to surf the web, and download lil' games and apps.
Who doesn't want a portable pocket sized sketchpad

Music
Has the ability to play as much music as you can fit on an SD card
Also has this lil' feature where you can dink around with the music, by making it go slower, faster, lower and higher pitch

It's a pretty cool thing to carry around. I probably use its apps just as much as I play games which brings me to my conclusion - if you just wanna play games, and/or don't need another camera/music player, a DS Lite is for you. However, if you want a camera, music player and portable internet surfer for just thirty bucks, get the DSi

I personally think the lite is the best choice. It's cheaper, you can run flashcarts easier on it, you can play GBA games on it, and i think the ds store for the DSi is pretty lame.

btw you can get a cheap flashcarts at dealextreme.com for like 20 bucks.
