Thread: Windows 7 gadgets not displaying on the desktop.?

when i select a gadget to be displayed on my desktop only the cross is displayed (clicking it closes the gadget)? how can i solve this issue?

You could try turning gadget platform off then back on. Go to programs and features in the control panel then unselect Windows Gadget Platform then restart. And then select it and restart.
If it doesn't work try system repair with a windows 7 disk.
