    What do big retailers like best buy do with older model electronics like...

    ...laptops and other gadget that do not? sell, why dont they sell them at a lesser price when the newer model come

    They "sell" them back to the manufacturer.

    Retailers deal with older inventory in several ways

    1) Clearance sale, i.e. lower the price and sell them
    2) Sell them to a liquidator, who then resells them online at a lower cost
    3) "Return" them to the factory (if it is allowed in the contract)

    They Refurbish them and sell them at a lower price.
