I tried right clicking on the desktop, but there's no gadgets option. Just "View" "Sort By" "Refresh" "Paste" Paste Shortcut" "New" "Screen Resolution" and "Personalize". I also tried to access them through the control panel like i did on windows vista, but i still can't find them there either. I've searched every where in my system i could think of and it seems like they just vanished. I find the cpu meter very handy and would like to see that again.

i've also tried searching for them in the all programs search bar but to no avail.
