A stun gun or a taser will do it. Pepper spray will make him wish he were asleep. A Colt or Smith & Wesson does very well. as does a 12 gauge.

I am in full agreement with cave creek. Except I lean to the 12 gage. Saw it off so it is just legal and do not worry about someone coming at you any more.
