Why is my 2001 BMW 330i air conditioner acting flaky, by sometimes working and
sometimes not? A couple months ago, the AC stopped working for a little while, then started up again. Recently, it is becoming more and more of a problem. It has been quite hot around here, routinely hitting 100 degrees. I have had to refill my coolant a lot. Also, I suspect my battery may be going, since the automatic door lock sometimes doesn't work. BUT, the fan also sometimes fails, and so the heater doesn't work, too. When my AC failed today, I couldn't get the fan to work, nor the heater. Suddenly, after 15 minutes of driving, it all magically started working! Could it be the battery, an electronic component, the heat, the coolant issue, or something else? What can I try and/or check before taking it to a BMW dealer, who will charge me a million dollars just to look at it? Thanks!
