What can I do to enhance my 2000 BMW 528i's performance?
-The engine on this has over 100k on it (mothers old car. now my first car. i'm stoked!)
-My budget isn't exactly huge, so lets say $1,000 is the absolute highest
-The engine has 193 Hp and 206 ft/lb torque (inline 6)
-It has an automatic transmission
Sell it and buy a 540i.
For 1k you could gain about 10 hp, and you won't even be able to feel the difference. If you wanted something you could actually feel, buy new shocks and springs. A 528i will never be quick in a straight line, too heavy and underpowered. You can make it handle better, and sound better by throwing on a Magnaflow can.
