Replacement shocks or Suspension on a 2nd hand Jaguar S-type?

Pardon me for the ignorance. If i were to buy myself a used (say...2003 model) Jaguar S-type and i want the ride (comfort / bounce) to at least become closest to an original feel of a brand new S-type, should i replace the shocks? suspension? struts? Any info would be great!
