I'm moving to lake Tahoe. I have an Audi A6 with AWD, should i get a new car?

The question pretty much explains it.

I have an 01' Audi A6 with AWD. I've driven it up to Tahoe in the Winter, but they usually do a good job of keeping the roads clear. So I've never lived with it in snow, or in snow ever at all.

I can't afford much, but I'm thinking I might need a new car since I am moving there this month and will be living there all throughout winter as well.
Should I ? Or should I just get some good snow tires?

i think that a6 awd is good enough on snow with all season tires but its mpg is bad
    google '2001 a6 aol spec'
turning off javascript prior clicking aol spec websites, can produce better layout
