aftermarket navigation in BMW wiring?

I got BMW x5 2002 3.0i and frotn faceplate to mount 2 din aftermarket radio and got wiring harness. How to connect navigation to my BMW? Do i need to disconnect battery before or i just need to match up the wires and connect in??? any details is fine !!1
