I recently bought a 2004 Mazda 3 with a Viper/Rattler (exact model unknown as it did not come with a manual and I cannot find the brain) alarm installed by the previous owner. The remote had been acting a little finicky for awhile (as in it took lots of pressing on the button to get the alarm to disarm.) Yesterday the remote just stopped working (it's the only one I got from the dealer) and I cannot get into or start the car without setting off the alarm and disabling the ignition.

I want to disable the alarm and I know that this takes locating the brain and the valet switch. However, I cannot locate the brain or the valet switch. I have looked on the driver’s side (where I have been told the brain is usually installed) and everywhere else that I can think of. Can anyone tell me where the brain might be and what it should look like?

If not, is there any way to disable the alarm without finding the brain? I just want the thing to go away.
